OLDFORD, DOROTHY “DOT” MARIE - It is with great sadness that the family announce the death of Dorothy Oldford of Oromocto, NB on Sunday, October 2nd, 2011. Born in Lakeville, NS she was the daughter of the late Curtis and Dorothy (Pyne) Winters and wife of the late Andrew J. W. Oldford. Dorothy was most known for her love of family and thoroughly enjoyed all her time spent with them. She took great pleasure in her many years of work at the Oromocto Public Hospital and was a member of the Oromocto Public Hospital Foundation. For many years she also enjoyed being a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #93. Dorothy will be missed by her daughter, Sharon Flight (Ford) of Waasis, NB; her son, Robert (Delphine) of McAdam, NB; chosen daughter Marg Taylor (Randy); sisters, Mary Coleman of Oromocto, NB and Sheila Winters (Barny) of Kentville, NS; brother, Curtis Winters of Kentville, NS; grandchildren, Candace Flight (John), Jessica Arseneau (Kevin), Robbie Oldford (Nicole) and Chrissy Oldford; great grandchildren, Makayla, Peyton, Tyler, Jacob, Evan and Hailey; goddaughter, Annie Holmwood as well as her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Andrew and her son, Andy Oldford. The family would like to express their gratitude to Michelle and Vianne on Med. 1 at the Oromocto Public Hospital for their care and compassion at a very difficult time.
There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Friday, October 7th, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place at a later date in the Burton Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial tributes made to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
