KAIZER, Pearl Elizabeth - 84, of Canning, passed away Monday, September 26, 2011 in Shannex, Orchard Court, Kentville. Born in Arlington, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mildred (Bennett) Rand. Pearl lived most of her married life with her husband, Clair on North Avenue in Canning. When not at home, they could be found at their cottage in Baxter’s Harbour, where they enjoyed the company of family and many friends. She was a member of the Canning Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and a member of the Arlington Baptist Church where she had been active with the choir. She sold Avon for several years and made many quilts that were special to her family. She is survived by a daughter, Teresa (Garnet) Steeves, Atlanta, Centreville, Kings County; four sons, Ivan (Margaret), Atlanta, Centreville; Hugh (Ruth), Steam Mill; Tony (Tina), Sechelt, British Columbia and Eugene (Ann), Canning; 11 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Clair; a sister, Georgia Sheffield and a grandson, Colton. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2011 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2011, Reverend Doctor Dan Gibson officiating. Burial took place in the Arlington Cemetery, Kings County. Donations in memory may be made to the Canning Volunteer Fire Department, the Arlington Baptist Church or to a charity of your choice.
