CLARKE, Ruth P. - 98, of Hilltop Haven, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2011 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Grafton, Kings County, she was a daughter of the late Kempton and Kate Congdon. She was a very proud Planter descendant. She is survived by her five children, John (Peter), Janet (George), June (Ken), Nola (Clair) and Diane (Dave); 18 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Allison F. Clarke; infant son, Kempton Wayne; sisters, Annie Christine and Edith; son-in-law, Burton Bowlby. Her life centered around her children and grandchildren. She took great satisfaction in her teaching career and her students over 25 years. She loved to play the piano for her own enjoyment and in these past years for her fellow residents and special caregivers. One only had to name their “favorite requests”. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Ruth’s life will take place on Saturday, October 8, 2011 from 2-4 p.m. at Hilltop Haven, 265 Lockhart Mountain Road, Coldbrook. A private burial will take place at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital - Carey Me Fund. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
