It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Hazel Bernadette Hansen of Dartmouth on Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at Buchanan Memorial Hospital, Neils Harbour.
Born in Cheticamp on Aug. 6, 1943, she was the daughter of Alex and Stella (Wilkie) Capstick of Dingwall.
Hazel graduated from St. Martha’s Hospital, Antigonish, and worked in the nursing profession in the U.S.A. and Nova Scotia. Her favourite hobbies were knitting and doing lexicon puzzles.
Hazel is survived by two sons, Robert, New Jersey, and David, Kentville; and grandson, Brent Wagner, Virginia; mother, Stella Capstick, Dingwall; sister, Linda Burton, Dingwall; brothers, Gary (Nancy) Capstick, Worcester, Mass., Gregory (Anne Marie) Capstick, Dingwall; niece, Sarah Capstick; nephews, Jason and Ryan Capstick and Richard Burton.
Hazel was predeceased by father, Alex Capstick, sister, Krisha Capstick and nephew, Scott Burton.
Family memorial service will be held in Dartmouth with interment at a later date.
