SCHMIDT - George Christian Schmidt passed away peacefully on September 28, 2011 at the age of 78 years. George will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Linda, three children: Lloyd (Laura) Schmidt of Calgary, AB, Ken (Shianne) Schmidt of Regina, SK, Paul (Lori) Schmidt of Raleigh, North Carolina, two stepchildren: Brent (Lisa) Henry of Lashburn, SK, Kim (Alex Kocen) Henry of Calgary, AB, 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and three sisters: Lillie Senft of Swift Current, SK, Linda (Ron) Sauder of Swift Current, SK and Alice (Arnie) Leis of Saskatoon, SK. Sadly predeceased by his parents, two infant sons, and brother-in-law, Wilmer Senft. In recent years George was an active member of the Penticton Golf and Country Club and the Penticton Curling Club. George enjoyed woodworking and loved spending time with his grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1370 Church Street, Penticton, BC with Pastor Curtis Aguirre officiating. Interment will follow at a later date in Saskatchewan.
