JEWER, Gordon Macdonald –Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer, Gordon Macdonald Jewer, of Bell Island (formerly of Botwood) at the age of 60. Predeceased by his parents Morley and Katie Jewer, father-in-law Arthur Jackman, brothers-in-law Doug and Cyril Jackman, sister-in-law Loretta Jewer and nieces Jillian Jewer and Allison Bennett. Leaving to mourn his loving wife and best friend Mary, darling daughter Karen (Tom) Murphy, precious son Mark (Jo Ann), and, the light of his life, granddaughter Keziah Murphy. Also, brothers Malcolm (Joan), Alastair (Vera), David (Christina), Arch (Joanne), Ken (Donna); sisters Beulah (Gerry) Lewis, Ida Jewer, Mona (Bert) Broderick and Margie Jewer; mother-in-law Helen Jackman; in laws Rosemarie (Ray) Bennett, Mildred Jackman, Irene Rees, Peggy (Martin) Boland, Vivian (Dan) Stone, Michael (Madeline) Jackman, Cathy (Jerry) Murray, Christine (Ed) Everson and Linda Gosse; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be sadly missed by his closest and best friend of 50 years Bill (Mary) Humber and family, and many other close friends and colleagues. Resting at Masonic Lodge, Main Street, Bell Island on Thursday, December 11, 2008 from 6 to 10:00 p.m. Memorial service at Jackson United Church, Bell Island on Friday, December 12, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. Then resting at Hoskins Funeral Home, Botwood on Saturday, December 13, 2008 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Interment at Botwood United Church cemetery on Sunday, December 14, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Daffodil Place.
