JOHNSTON, Rev. George Albion
December 8, 1922 – October 18, 2009
With sadness and heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our caring and gentle husband, father, and grandfather. George is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mickey, and his children Greg (Monica), Bev (Barry), Murray (Colleen), Lynn (Stacey), and Sue (Rod). He also leaves to mourn 12 grandchildren: Sean, Andrew, Chris, Evan, Cam, Adam, Jenna, Kate, Eric, Logan, Foster and Courtney, along with numerous relatives and friends. Retired in 1991 after 49 years in the Presbyterian ministry, George remained active in the church, his community, and particularly as Mickey’s social convener, executive assistant, and chef; his quick wit and good humour will be sorely missed. A Visitation will be held from 7:30 to 9:00 pm Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at Serenity Funeral Service, 5311 – 91 St., Edmonton. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 23, 2009, at Dayspring Presbyterian Church, 11445 – 40 Ave., Edmonton.
