WILLIAM ALEX ULRICH
Bill was born in Denzil, Saskatchewan where he received his schooling. In 1943 Dad left Denzil to join the RCAF as an aircraft gunner with the 436 Squadron. During the Second World War, he served in numerous overseas locations: primarily in Burma. Dad left the Air Force as a Warrant Officer in 1946.
Upon returning to Canada, Bill met and married, Elsie, the love of his life. They had 7 children together. Bill enjoyed a long career in the oil industry that ended with him retiring from Gulf Oil in 1984. Throughout his lifetime Dad enjoyed hunting, fishing, curling, hockey and was a master at tinkering. Above all he took great pride and interest in his family.
Bill was predeceased by his parents (Jacob and Catherine), his siblings, his daughter (Carol), 2 grandsons (James and Jason) and a great granddaughter (Faith).
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Elsie, his children Karen (Bill), Gary (Jan), Terry (Jan), Jan (John), Rob (Jackie) and Dale; 19 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great- grandchildren.
He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Prayers will be recited at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 255 Nicola Street, Kamloops on Thursday October 6th, 2011 at 7:00 p.m
The Reverend Fr. Vincent Asomugha will Celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial in the Cathedral on Friday, October 7th, 2011 at 10:00 a.m.
Should friends desire, donations to the Kamloops Hospice Association, 72 Whiteshield Crescent S., Kamloops, BC, V2E 2S9, in memory of Bill would be appreciated.
