Malcolm John MacDonald, 88, of Northside General Hospital and formerly of Black Rock, passed away Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at the Northside General Hospital, North Sydney.
Born in Black Rock, he was the son of the late John and Mary (MacKinnon) MacDonald.
He was a member of St. Giles Presbyterian Church, North Sydney. Malcolm was employed for a number of years in Ontario and returned to Cape Breton where he worked with Reeves Building Supplies until retiring in 1985.
He is survived by his two stepchildren, Philip and Annabelle; three sister, Catherine (Gordon) MacKenzie of Boularderie Centre, Margaret Neudeck, and Wilma Tofuri, both of USA; one brother, Angus (Elaine Tobin) MacDonald of North Sydney; and by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Millie Taylor MacDonald and by and infant sister and an infant brother.
There will be no visitation for the late Mr. MacDonald. A funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Giles Presbyterian Church. Interment in Black Rock Cemetery.
