GOULDEN, (Perry) Mabel Dorlene Mae, age 94, formerly of Gunning Cove passed away peacefully in Roseway Manor on Sunday, October 2, 2011 with her family by her side. Mae was born August 31, 1917, a daughter of the late Benjamin Foster and Sarah Leona Goulden. Mae grew up in Roseway and married Lovitt Marshell Goulden on June 28, 1939 and they made their home in Gunning Cove. Mae thoroughly enjoyed caring for her family and especially loved social gatherings where Mabel would sometimes appear much to everyone’s delight. Mae was a member of the Anglican Church, an active volunteer of the CGC Fire Department and the Red Cross. Mae is survived by her children, Sterling (Margo) and Wendy (Richard) Pennell, a sister Evelyn, a brother Nelson, eight grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Lovie in 1993, their eldest son Gardiner in 1988, brothers Foster, Albert, Harold, Fred, Dell and sisters Rosie, Ellen Myrtle and Hilda. Funeral service was held on Thursday, October 6 in H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, with Pastor Cindy Dunnett officiating. Burial will follow at The Church of Resurrection Cemetery, Churchover. The family wishes to thank the staff of Roseway Manor for their kindness and care, and Pastor Cindy Dunnett for being there when we needed her the most.
