Passed peacefully away on Friday, October 16th, 2009 in his 58th year, at the Wainwright Hospital, Alberta. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his beloved and devoted wife Joy (nee Durdle), his 3 daughters: Megan Jared Myers of Lloyd Minster, Alberta, TY Spencer Gordon of Victor, B.C., and Casey Raye Gordon, of Calgary, Alberta, his step son Paul Fennimore (Tina), of Hinton, Alberta, step daughter Sheila McIntyre (Fennimore) of Wainwright, Alberta, seven grandchildren: Ashley, Nicholas, Parker, Dustin, Kyle, Kaleigh, and Louise, his brother Robert Gordon, of Chauvin, Alberta, brothers-in-law: Len LaCombe, of Bonnyville, Alberta, Sam Durdle (Pat) of Corner Brook, NL, Winston Durdle (Rachel), of Pasadena, NL, Major Carson Durdle S.A. (Audrey) of Saint John, N.B., and Barry (Violet) of Ft. McMurray, Alberta, his sisters-in-law: Minetta (Scott Pelley), Margaret (Ronald McDonald), Gertie (Raymond White), Melva (Graham Field), his mother-in-law Mrs. Edna Durdle all of Deer Lake, NL, his very devoted caregiver Alma Benjamin. Bill was predeceased by his mother Linnea, his father William Gordon, his sister Ardis LaCombe. Also leaving to mourn a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, family and friends. The family had visitation at Greech's Funeral Home at Lloyd Minster, Alberta on Sunday, October 18th, 2009 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9. A funeral service was held on Monday, October 19th, 2009 at 2:00 pm from the Salvation Army Church in Lloyd Minister, Albert with Lt. Kim Bridge officiating. Bill is then being transferred to Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street in Deer Lake, NL for visitation to be held on Friday, October 23rd, 2009 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm and on Saturday morning from 10-12. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 24th, 2009 at 2:00 pm from the Salvation Army Church in Deer Lake, NL with Major Carson Durdle and Majors Wayne & Betty Ann Pike officiating with the burial to follow at the Salvation Army Church Cemetery at Wights Road, Deer Lake, NL. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the A.L.S. Society, in Bill’s memory, would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
