GALANTAI, BELA GEORGE - The passing of Bela George Galantai of Fredericton, New Brunswick, husband of Zsuzsanna (Zsuzsi) Galantai occurred on Friday October 7, 2011, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born On December 8th, 1935 in Bickas, Hungary, he watched his beloved homeland being torn apart by conflict in the early years and then again in his young adult life. This being too hard to bear he left for a new land of promise with open lands, peace and no bloodshed. En route he met his young wife and settled in Canada to start and raise their young family. He came to Fredericton and remained here until his passing.
Bela is survived by his wife Zsuzsanna, Son Thomas (Tom) and wife Crystal, Fredericton, Son George and partner Julia MacAlpine and daughter Lindsay of Fredericton and daughter Chelsea of Digby, Nova Scotia. Four amazingly incredible Grandchildren (His words) that the sun rose with them each on the day of their births and never set until his last breath, and oh how proud he was of the four of them. Michael, Calgary, Alberta, Alisha (partner Phil) Fredericton, Ashley (Fiance Jamie) Havelock N.B. and Josh of Fredericton.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 11th at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road between 2 and 4 and again 7to 9PM, with the memorial service on Wednesday October 12th at 11 AM again at Bishop's Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Moore officiating. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the to a charity of the donor's choice.
