Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa.
Will be fondly remembered by his loving wife, Reynelda ‘Raye’. Sadly missed by his children, Sharon Steinhaus (Klaus), Eugene Young (Lis), Brian Young, Loretta Uhrig (Dale) and Greg Young (Lisa). Grandfather to Scott Hughes, Tiffany Young, Krystal Uhrig, Shontell Young and Tyler Young. Allister is survived by his sisters, Mary Melnilk and Cheophas Leroux of Glace Bay and his brother, Justin Young of Cambridge, ON.
Allister was a coal miner at Colliery No. 4 in Cape Breton prior to moving to Ontario in 1960.
Resting at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King St., East, Oshawa with funeral service in the chapel on Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, Oct. 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
