It is with sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our brother Manuel Germain Deveau, 59, on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at the Northside General Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Sydney, Manuel was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Keagan) Deveau.
He worked for a short time at the Sydney Steel Plant.
Manuel is survived by his brother, Michael (Debbie) Deveau, North Sydney; and his sister, Michelle (Stephen) LeMoine, Edmonton; and also by his nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by an infant daughter, Rose.
There will be no visitation. A funeral service for Manuel will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney, with Rev. Jim Attwood officiating. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney.
Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
