WILLIAMS, MARIE ZENA - Marie Z. Williams of Harvey Station, NB passed away October 9, 2011 at York Manor. Born at Temperance Vale, NB in 1926, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Mildred (Davidson) Stairs. Marie graduated from Meductic Superior High School in 1944. She married Travis Williams on June 21, 1947. Marie joined the Eastern Star, Unity Chapter 35 in 1954 and was made a life member in 2007. For the past nine years, she was a resident of York Manor. Marie is survived by a daughter, Brenda Lawson (Roger), Newmarket, NB; a son, Dale Williams, Fredericton; a son-in-law, Robin W. Hood, Magaguadavic, NB; seven grandsons, Gregory Lawson (Roxanne), Robert Lawson (Tricia), Nicholas Lawson (Melanie), Ryan Hood (Jamie), Aaron Hood (Brianne), Christopher Williams and Stephen Williams; two great grandchildren, Dylan and Dakota Lawson; three sisters, Irma Stairs, Woodstock, NB, Louise Lenentine, Houlton, ME and Alice MacFarlane, Fredericton, NB; a brother, Fred Stairs (Alice), Meductic, NB; a sister-in-law, Kay Williams, Harvey Station; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Travis Williams in 2007; a daughter, Debbie Hood in 2008 and a brother, Bertram Stairs in 1970.
Visiting hours will be held at Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Route 3, Harvey Station on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Harvey, NB on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Bonnie Wynn officiating. Interment in Acton Cemetery. An Eastern Star service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 6:45 p.m. Pallbearers will be grandsons Nicholas Lawson, Ryan Hood, Aaron Hood, Christopher Williams, Stephen Williams and nephew, George MacFarlane. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Marie, the family has suggested the Knox Presbyterian Church Parking Lot Fund, Acton Cemetery, Harvey Outreach or charity of the donor's choice.
