Honor Fenwick

Passed on: October 10th, 2011

Passed away peacefully with her son by her side on Monday, October 10, 2011 at the Union Hospital in Moose Jaw. Nora, at the age of 92, predeceased by her beloved husband John Charles (1998), by her son Tom and by her brother Jimmy Taylor. She will be lovingly missed by her son Fred and daughter-in-law Gail. Nora was born to Gordon and Jane Taylor in Edinburgh, Scotland on November 2, 1918. She grew up in Scotland, but became a war bride and immigrated to Canada in 1945, after John returned from serving overseas. Both Nora and John were faithful members of St. Andrew’s Church in Moose Jaw and served in various ministries of the church over the many years they attended. After John’s retirement, they enjoyed several annual vacations, traveling to Scotland to visit Nora’s family, and to Vancouver to spend time with close friends. They loved music and dancing and were regulars at the Base Socials. Following John’s passing, Nora remained active in her community and often enjoyed dinner and a movie at the theatre with friends. She was very independent, and prior to her stroke she was often seen walking all around Moose Jaw, whether it was to pick up a bag of groceries, or a trip to the Library to pick up books as reading was her favorite pastime. At Nora’s request, there will be a private Graveside Service held on Monday, October 17, 2011, with Rev. Bob Langdon officiating. Nora will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband John Charles at the Moose Jaw Cemetery on Caribou St. E.
