Ronald Hugo Lonquist passed away surrounded by his loving family on October 5th, 2011 at the age of 70.

He is survived by his devoted children Rodny (Christy) of Blaine, WA, Tracey of Delta, BC, Troy (Jen) of Lone Butte, BC, Donovan of Langley, BC, Travis (Willemyn) of Kamloops, BC, Tara (Patrick) of Lee Creek, BC, and Rhonda (Matt) of Kamloops, BC. Also left to mourn are his precious grandchildren Melanie, Cody, Hayden, Jade, Hailey, Adam, Jordan, Amber, Ryan, Cole, Samantha, Brady, Zoe & Danika, along with his brothers David (Monika) & Ken (Raya), and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews & friends.

He also leaves behind his wife Lana, and her two children Tommy & Brittany.

Ron was predeceased by his parents Nicholas & Margaret Lonquist, daughter Christine Ellis, wife Jen Lonquist and two nephews.

Born September 22, 1941, Ron was raised in Vancouver, BC where he attended Vancouver Tech. He moved to Mackenzie, BC in 1977 where he worked for FFI until he retired in 1999. Finding it difficult to fully retire at such a young age he worked part-time for the Elizabeth Fry Society in Kamloops until his final retirement in February 2011. Ron's favorite pastimes were golfing, hunting & fishing.

The family extends a heartfelt thanks to the Emergency Response Team that helped when Ron was in distress, as well as the wonderful staff in the ER & ICU at Royal Inland Hospital.

The Graveside Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2011 at Hillside Cemetery in Kamloops, BC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in Ron's honor.
