It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our brother, Frankie on Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at home.
Born in Sydney and raised in Whitney Pier, Frankie was the son of Annie (Marsh) Hewer and the late Bill Hewer.
He was employed at the Cape Breton Post, from which he retired.
Frankie enjoyed volunteering at Loaves and Fishes.
Surviving are his brothers, Billy, Eddie, Tom and Mike; sisters, Tressa, Dee Dee, Duds, Anna and Queenie; and his soulmate, Hilda.
Visitation will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel, Friday, 1-2 p.m., followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 2 p.m. with Maj. Dan Roode officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
