It is with great sadness that the family of Andrew Goodridge announce his death at his home in New Brunswick, surrounded by family and friends, on Saturday, October 8th, 2011 at the age of 44. Born in St. John's, NL on September 6th, 1967, he was the husband of Rosemary Goodridge of Lincoln, NB. Andrew leaves behind wife, Rosemary; mother, Helen of St. John's, NL; brothers: Michael (Rhonda) and Tony (Tina Hurley) of St. John's, NL; sister-in-law, Susan (Derrick) Cantwell of New Maryland; brother-in-law, David Ogilvie of Fredericton; nephews: Peter, Nicholas and Max; nieces: Laura, Alexandria and Cassie; and godmother, Heather Anderson. Andrew was predeceased by his father, Avalon (Ted) Goodridge. The most important things in Andrew's life were his wife, family and friends. He will be dearly missed by his family, incredible circle of friends and teammates in both Newfoundland and New Brunswick. There will be no visitation at his request. A memorial service will be held at the Anglican Cathedral in St. John’s, Saturday, October 15th, 2011 at 2 p.m. with The Rev. Dr. John Hewson officiating. Over the past 21⁄2 years while struggling with his own health crisis, Andrew was a tenacious advocate for the implementation of a catastrophic drug program in New Brunswick. He was passionate about the need for a provincial program that would allow patients to focus on their own recovery rather than the worry of funding their required treatment.
