It is not very often that the citizen’s of Sydney and Sydney River see a procession of antique and custom cars parade through the streets on a Tuesday afternoon, but that was the case on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 when the Cape Breton Antique and Custom Car Club, under Cape Breton Regional Police escort expertly led by Csp. Ryan Brufatto, escorted the remains of Robert M. Geddes to his final resting place in Sydney Forks. Robert loved anything associated with cars; this was a fitting way to demonstrate your respect for his passion. – Thank you to all who participated in the procession.
To the many friends, family, and associates who visited the funeral home, traveled from east and west, sent flowers, donations to Ben’s scholarship fund or charity of choice, to those who sent food to our home, phone calls from near and far, we are forever thankful. To the auto dealerships and car parts suppliers, thank you for your kind words and offerings.
A special thank you to EHS staff for your professionalism and care during those dramatic moments.
To Cathy and Mom who stayed with us for two weeks to help us through the trauma of Robert’s sudden passing – we are so lucky to have family.
To the honourary pallbearers, Herb Martell, Jim Spagnolatti, Vince Carrigan, Greg McEachen, and Robert Mahoney – Robert cherished your friendship and respected you dearly. To urn bearer – Wendell Eddy – Robert would be so proud of you – you carried him with pride and dignity. Thank you all for being there for him.

To Rev. Eugene Fisher (brother-in-law) – Thank you for the reading, the funny stories, and assisting us through those initial meetings. We are thankful to have you with us.

The verse at the gravesite and the release of the doves were beautiful and so very calming. Thank you for being there for us.
