STEELE, HELEN KATHLEEN (nee GIBSON) - Helen K. Steele passed away October 7th, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, NB surrounded by her children and granddaughters, Courtney, Sarah and Alexandria. Born in Fredericton, July 12th, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Lillian (Logan) Gibson. She was predeceased by her husband, R. Thomas Steele. A wonderful mother and great cook, she leaves behind three children, Kathleen Myra, Harry G. Steele (Louise Tassé) and Bette Dean (Tony); Alexandria (Mike), Sarah (Evan), Courtney (Omar), Lynette (Marco), Christina (Jason) and Damon and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, John (June) and Charles Gibson; many nieces and nephews and special friends.
At Helen’s request, there will be no funeral. A memorial gathering for her will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on October 29th at 2:00 pm. A family burial will take place at the Kingston Trinity Church Cemetery in the Kingston Peninsula on October 30th, at 2:00 pm. Helen requested her final words of wisdom be “Don’t believe everything you read”.
