HAY, FRANK S. - 1921-2011 - Miramichi - Frank Stewart Hay, husband of the late Bernice Hay, of MacDonald Road, Glenwood, formerly of the South Black River Road, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Thursday, October 13, 2011, at the age of 89. Born in Chatham, on November 28, 1921, he was the son of the late John J. and Barbara E. (MacNaughton) Hay. He was a retired long time employee of Wm. J. Kerr Ltd. and an adherent of St. Stephen's United Church, Black River Bridge. He is survived by ten daughters, Geraldine Dick (Stuart), of Napan, Kathleen MacDonald (Blaine), of Black River, Loretta MacDonald (Vince), of St. Margarets, Lorraine MacDonald (Lawrence), of Glenwood, Dorothy MacDonald (Howie), of Miramichi, Stella Cabel (Marven), of St. Margarets, Mary Hay (Paul), of Napan, Joyce Walsh (Adam), of Black River, Sharon Malley (Kenny), of Glenwood, Kelly Ross (Jim), of Black River; seven sons, Joseph (Karen), of Black River, Charlie (Jackie), of Black River, Bernard, of Napan, David (Wanda), of Black River, Edward (Linda), of Glenwood, Ronald (Carol), of Black River, Art Robinson (Loretta), of Miramichi; forty-nine grandchildren; eighty-seven great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; one sister, Vera Hay, of Miramichi; as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Bernice MacDonald, in 1998; one son, Wesley; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; five sisters, Janet, Elizabeth, Margaret, Evelyn, Ruth; three brothers, Max, James and Albert.
Visitation will be at the Miramichi Exhibition building (John St. entrance) on Saturday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from St. Stephen's United Church, on Sunday, October 16, 2011, at 2:30 pm, conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight. Interment will be in the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the extra mural nursing program, or any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
