Family and friends are saddened to hear of the sudden death of Jean Dorothy MacKenzie of Charlottetown which occurred on Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. She was 79 years old.
Mrs. MacKenzie was born in Campbellton, New Brunswick on September 9, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Robert Steven Firth and Gladys Travers. She is survived by two children, one daughter Linda Laybolt of Niagara Falls, Ontario and one son Lawrence of Robinsonville, N.B. She is also survived by two sisters, Carol Firth of Robinsonville, N.B. and Cynthia Plumbstead (Doug) of Fredericton, N.B., and one uncle John Firth of P.E.I. She is survived by three grandchildren Jessie, Jamie and Robert, also three great-grandchildren, Jannessa, Abigail and Jade plus many nephews, nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Sandy, three sisters, Vye, Greta and Lorraine.
A graveside service under the direction of Belvedere Funeral Home will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. in Lower Montague Cemetery.
