Michael 'Chad' Nearing

Born In: New Waterford, Nova Scotia, Canada

Passed in: Albert Bridge, Nova Scotia, Canada
Passed on: October 11th, 2011

It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Chad on October 11, 2011 at home in New Boston Rd, Albert Bridge.
Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late Michael Charles and Mary (Beaton) Nearing.
Chad was a coal miner for 44 years and had a passion for woodworking. Chad wasn’t the type of man that could be easily summarized in two paragraphs, nor was he the type to draw attention to himself, even in death. He was a remarkable man, generous, confident and wise, quick to laugh or lend a helping hand; and those he left behind, who believe that life will be somehow always worse without him, he would know just what to say to make us laugh and feel ridiculous at the thought…but those words elude us.
He is survived by his wife Joanne (McKinnon); sons Kurt (Leah MacNeil), Ross (Heather) and Reese; grandchildren Jordan and Makenna; sister Catherine (Dinah) Graham.
Besides his parents, Chad was also predeceased by infant sister Sandra; niece Lonita Graham; nephew Richard Graham; in-laws John Angus and Mary Catherine McKinnon; sister-in-law Cathy McKinnon; and brothers-in-law Buddy Graham and John Warren.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Chad’s life will be held Saturday, October 15th at 10 a.m. in the Parish of Saint Leonard, Mount Carmel Ave., New Waterford with Father Ray Huntley officiating, and a luncheon to follow in the parish hall, Convent St. Arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 862-7500.
Donations in Chad’s memory can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
