DOHERTY, JAMES DEWEY - J. Dewey Doherty of South Tweedside, NB passed away unexpectedly at his home on October 14, 2011. Born at Harvey, NB in 1947, he was a son of Mina (Ketch) Doherty and the late Vincent Doherty. Dewey worked for the Department of Transportation for 44 years, the last 15 years as Highway Supervisor in Harvey. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting. His greatest love was spending time with his precious Kayla, Emily and Kate. He is survived by his wife, Johanna (Adams) Doherty; his children, Michael Doherty, Perth-Andover, NB, Timothy Doherty (Cindy), St. George, NB and Kayla Doherty, at home; his mother of McAdam, NB; his grandchildren, Emily and Katherine; his sister, Rose Little (Stephen), McAdam, NB; his brothers, Denny Doherty (Helen), Peter Doherty (Linda), both of Fredericton, NB, Charles Doherty (Brenda), Saint John, NB; a sister-in-law, Margaret Crowley Doherty, Sunny Corner, NB and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, Dewey was predeceased by a brother Earl Doherty. Visitation will be held at Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Highway 3, Harvey Station, NB on Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 2412, Highway 3, Harvey Station, NB on Monday, October 17, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bonnie Wynn officiating. Interment will be in Harvey Settlement Cemetery.
