Dorrington, Gary Dexter – 65, Truro passed away October 22, 2009 at home. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Alexander and Aretta (Dorrington) Clyke. He was employed for over 30 years with Via Rail working his way from porter to service co-ordinator. He served briefly with the Militia. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26 and Truro Horsemen’s Club for many years; a member of the Zion United Baptist Church and a member of the Church Brotherhood. Gary’s greatest love was being with his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by daughters, Tanya Dorrington, Truro, Patricia (Stephen) Roberts, Truro, Deanna Harvey, Truro, Melissa Purcell, Pennsylvania; sons, Michael and Mark Dorrington, St. John, NB; Michael Isbansky, Pennsylvania; numerous grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Wendy and Susan Clyke, both of Truro; brothers, Creighton Dorrington, Carl Dorrington, Graham Dorrington, Scott Dorrington, Denny Dorrington; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce P.R. Dorrington; brothers, Lane and Guy Dorrington. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 27 at 2:00 pm in Zion United Baptist Church, Truro with Rev. Brian Johnston officiating. Interment in Robie Street Cemetery.
