Joan Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Clarke, 53, Sydney, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, An Cala Palliative Care Unit, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Trenton, Ont., she was the daughter Gordon and Cecila (Matheson) Harvey.
Besides her parents she is survived by her daughter, Courtney (Matthew) Debison, Calgary, Alta.; two sisters, Florence (Donald) MacPherson, Dianne Harvey; and one foster brother, Ronald. Betty is also survived by a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, two great-grandnieces; and one great-grandnephew and cousins.
Betty was predeceased by her brother, John Gordon.
There will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be held at St. Anthony Daniel church on Tuesday at 11 a.m., with Rev. Donald MacGillivray officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
