Passed away at the Health Sciences Centre on Saturday October 15, 2011, Thomas (Tommy) Roche of St. John’s , age 56. Predeceased by his parents Tom and Lucy Roche and his sister Frances (Brewster). Leaving to mourn the loss of his cheerful spirit are his cherished son Jamie of Edmonton; his sister Ann Newhook (Garry) and brother Sandy (Helen Marie) and their eight children who will always fondly remember their humorous, helpful yet mischievous Uncle Tommy; his niece and nephew in New Brunswick and other relatives.
Tommy also leaves to mourn but also to celebrate his life a wide circle of friends here in St. John’s and also in Alberta where he lived for a number of years. Special note is to be made of his lifelong friend Ricky Gosse who consistently sat at his side as he succumbed to the ravages of cancer.
Cremation has taken place. Resting at Cauls Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, visitation to take place on Monday from 7pm to 9pm and Tuesday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Dr. H Bliss Murphy Cancer Foundation. An event to celebrate Tom’s life is being organized for a later date.
