The death occurred at the South Shore Villa, Crapaud, on Oct. 15, 2011, of Edna Agatha Gallant (nee Trainor), wife of the late Peter Leander Gallant, formerly of Hope River and North Rustico, age 91.
By her side were son, Norbert, his wife, Elaine, and granddaughter, Laura Ann Gallant. Edna was the beloved mother of Bernie (Annette), Reggie (Cecilia), Norbert (Elaine) and David (Nora); loving grandmother of 17 and great-grandmother of 15. She is also survived by sister, Rita McInnis; brothers, Louis and Aneas; sisters-in-law, Eileen Trainor, Mary Trainor and Rita Gallant; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Edna was predeceased by her husband, Peter; her parents, John and Catherine (Doyle) Trainor; her first son at childbirth; sons, Justin and his wife, Janet, and Gerard and daughter-in-law, Edwina; sisters, Ada McGuigan (Damien), Alice (Austin Bulger) and Annie Trainor; brothers, Emmett (Rita), Pius and Austin; sister-in-law, Theresa Trainor; and brother-in-law Houlton McInnis.
Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Rd., New Glasgow, for visitation, Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, North Rustico, on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the Stella Maris Church Cemetery.
