Bartlett, Mary Elizabeth – 56, Upper Brookside, passed away surrounded by family on October 14, 2011 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of the late Loris and Alice (Brown) Steele. Mary worked in the food service industry for many years, including managing the Ponderosa Steak House before opening the Capricorn Restaurant on Industrial Avenue in Truro, later locating in the Power Centre on Treaty Trail. She loved playing cards and pool, board games, computer games and spending time with her grandson Hunter and family. She is survived by her daughter, Kelly (Andrew) Bower; son, Trevor, both of Truro Heights; grandson, Hunter; sisters, Shirley MacLeod, Bible Hill; Carol (Bobby) Martin, Upper Brookside (formerly of Centreville); Judy (Bruce) Benjamin, Coldbrook; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Larry. At her request, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service. A private family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
