BUDDIN: Allie Bateman Buddin age 95 and one half years, of Swift Current passed away at Swift Current Care Centre October 9, 2011. The Funeral Service was held on October 13, 2011 at The Chapel Of Warren's Funeral Home with James Burton officiating. The organist was Glenna Switzer, soloist's were great-granddaughter Taylor Neufeld and grandson Oran Anderson. The pallbearers were grandsons Brent Dykema, Bart Dykema, Blake Dykema, Darrol Finlay, Mark Anderson and Oran Anderson. The interment service took place at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Swift Current, SK. Allie is survived by three daughters: Beverley Anderson, Madelyn (Jim) Finlay, Gail Dykema; grandchildren: Glenda (George) Giesbrecht; Mark (Thecla) Anderson, Joel (Magda); Janina, Raelene; Oran Anderson, Blayne, Rylie, Chetten; Darrol (Bernice) Finlay, Tori, Kelli, Sheri (Steve) Neufeld, Cole, Taylor; Brent (Tanya) Dykema, Brandon, Mackenzie, Danille; Bart (Priscilla) Dykema, Jordan, Christopher, Connor; Blake (Lisa) Dykema, Slater, Sloan; a sister Isabel Elliott; sisters-in-law Bertha Middlemiss and Jean Twerdachlib. Allie was predeceased by husband Embert Buddin and parents Joseph and Alice Middlemiss; in-law's Clarence and Francis Buddin; sons-in-law Orville Anderson and Frank Dykema; and brothers Vern, Fred and Jim; and a sister-in-law Averil Buddin. Allie was born in Regina, SK March 9, 1916. She attended school at Tragarva, Lumsden, and Aneroid. In her early years Allie worked at family and friends doing house keeping and attending to children and later with Mrs. Bradley (a midwife) looking after babies. She married Embert Mark Buddin on August 1, 1940. She was a member of the bowling league in Swift Current and the birthday club group in Success, SK. Other interests she enjoyed were: gardening, picking raspberries, enjoyed farming for 45 years, bingo, casinos, cards, scrabble, puzzles, visiting friends, crochetting, knitting and other handwork. She also made many of our clothes. She enjoyed trips to Churchhill and train trip to Victora, BC with Bev and Orville, also trips to Cherokee with Gail and Frank, to Mesa and Yuma with Madelyn and Jim to visit Isabel and Wilf Elliott. She went to Cherokee for a nephew's wedding and visited Rapid City and Deadwood. Thursday was always a special day for the last 20 years, she would go out to get hair done, went bowling, and spent the day with family before going for supper and then a stop at the casino after supper.
