July 7, 1922 - October 20, 2009

It is with great love and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather, Reginald McBride on October 20th, 2009. Reg passed away peacefully at the Kamloops Senior Village at 87 years of age with loved ones by his side.

Reg was predeceased by his loving wife Alice.

He is survived by his sister; Edith Merrison, brother; Alex McBride, son; Trevor (Debbie) McBride, daughters; Brenda (Murray) Cullen, Barbara McBride (Rick Dillman), nine grandchildren; Julie, Carrie, Leslie, Debbie, Vickie, Shane, Lann,Tyson and Luke and eleven great grandchildren as well as one great great grandchild.

Reg was born in Vegreville, Alberta. He moved to Chilliwack where he found the love of his life, Alice Cook and they married and started a family of their own. Reg served in the Air Force as a mechanic and brought the skill to Finning Tractor where he later retired in Kamloops, BC. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years.

Reg enjoyed curling, gardening and spending time with his family and friends. If anything ever needed fixing, Reg was the man for the job. Reg will be remembered for his gentle spirit and the ability to say so much with so few words, his love and devotion for his wife and family, his ability to see the bright side of life and a laugh that seemed to come from deep in his belly. Reg was always there when called upon, he was a humble man who never complained, he was compassionate, patient and kind. He will be sorrowfully missed. He was our hero.

A Celebration of Reg\'s Life will be held on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 3:30 P.M. at Barb and Rick\'s Home, 3079 Birkenhead Drive in Juniper Ridge.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer\'s Society, Box 277 Station M, Kamloops, BC, V2C 5K6.
