Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Friday, October 14, 2011, Rita H. McDonnell of Northern Bay, formerly of Birmingham, England, age 77 years. Predeceased by parents: William and Gladys Baker; common-law-spouse: Edison Bursey. Left to mourn, daughter: Samantha (Colin) Bursey, Burnt Point; two grandchildren: Cameron and Erica; one sister: Val (Michael) Martin, Halesowen, West Midlands, England; cousins: Mike (Betty) Baker, Cath (Roy) Wood, Pauline (Fred) Porter and Gill (Doug) Bailey; close family friends: Harry (Marion) Biant, Barbara Webb, Barbara Cull, Byron (Linda) Bursey and family; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay. Rev. John Davis conducted the funeral service on Monday, October 17 at Memorial United Church, Burnt Point. Cremation hads taken place. Inurnment took place on Thursday, October 20 in the United Cemetery, Burnt Point. Donations in her memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation of NL.
