It is with sadness we, the family, announce the passing of James Robert ‘Jimmy’ Sponagle, 65, on Monday, Oct. 17, 2011 in Framboise, N.S.
Born in Isaac’s Harbour, Guysborough County, he was a son of the late Arthur and Viola (Spanks) Baker.
Jimmy loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing while at his cabin in Framboise.
Surviving are sons, Paul A. Sponagle and Brian Sponagle, both of Scotchtown; brother, Fred (Doreen), New Victoria; granddaughters, Jessica Burns and Madison Kelly; one niece, Corinne; two nephews, Kevin and Tony.
Besides his parents, Jimmy was predeceased by one brother, Kevin.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 20 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral service will take place Friday, Oct. 21 at 2:30 p.m. in Calvin United Church, New Waterford, with Rev. Duncan Roach officiating. Jimmy will be taken to the church at noon on Friday. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery, Scotchtown.
