GIROUARD, ANNETTE - 1925 – 2011 - Annette Girouard, 86, of Sainte-Marie de Kent, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John on Monday, October 17th, 2011. She was married to the late Albert Girouard (1997). Born in Sainte-Marie de Kent on April 18th, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Cléophas and the late Alexina (Melanson) Melanson. Annette was an elementary school teacher, and taught at different school in Kent County. A long time member of the Sainte-Marie de Kent Golden Age Club, she was secretary for the last several years. Annette was a very active member of her community and believed strongly in volunteering her services. She will be sadly missed be her five children; Gisèle Girouard, Nicole Girouard, and Murielle Girouard-Dionne (Jean-Claude) of Moncton, Guy (Lucille) and Jean-Marie (Odette) of Sainte-Marie de Kent, and three grandchildren, Nadine (Luc), Ghislain, and Jean-Luc (Renelle). She also leaves to mourn four sisters, Anise LeBlanc (Roger) of Danbury, Conn., Thérèse Cormier (Sylvio) and Alberta of Mississauga, ON, and Marguerite Robichaud (Paul) of Sainte-Marie de Kent, four sisters-in-law, Anita of Moncton, Odette of Saint-Antoine, Gloria of Dieppe, Corinne Girouard of Bouctouche, one brother-in-law Christophe Girouard of Shediac, several nephews and nieces, cousins and numerous friends. She was predeceased by one grandson, Gaétan, one sister Odette and four brothers, Roméo, Louis, Normand, and Aurèle.
Visitations will be held at the Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Sainte-Marie de Kent on Thursday, October 20th, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Friday from 2 to 4 and 5:30 to 6:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Sainte-Marie de Kent Church on Friday, October 21st, 2011 at 7:00 pm with interment in the parish Cemetery.
In Annette’s memory donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Sainte-Marie Church Fund. Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Maillet Funeral Home, Bouctouche.
