Sadie (McIntyre) Byers
Sadie [McIntyre] Byers of Truro passed away peacefully on morning of October 17, 2011, at Colchester Regional Hospital, aged 91, wife of the late Leslie Byers. Born in Bible Hill on April 13, 1920, she was the daughter of William and Rose [Jolley] McIntyre. Sadie was the youngest and last surviving of her five siblings and spouses, Roy [Christie Johnson], Ada [Lewis Lane], Stanley [Doris Davidson], Jean [Curtis MacKenzie] and Walter [Catherine Langille], all of early families in the Truro area. She had a gentle happy loving soul and was devoted to her beloved Les, and surviving son Jerry and daughter Linda, who say to her now:
Dear mother, when the cold winter winds are blowing the dancing snowflakes past the window, when the sweet pink blossoms are flowering on the apple tree, when those winds now as warm summer breezes are dancing with the ripples on the Brule blue waters, and when those October leaves now brown are whispering in unison with the breezes as they flutter gently to ground under that apple tree, I will remember you and hold you close to me, because Mothers are very special. Surely, Mum, I told you so, even long long ago. Funeral and committal services to be held in spring in the Bell Gift Cemetery, New Annan.
