Passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital at the age of 85. Helen was born in Prelate, SK on November 5, 1925 to Edward and Martha Getz. She grew up and attended school in Lancer, SK. Helen married Ben Loos in 1946 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Moose Jaw. Helen and Ben raised their family on the farm near Spring Valley, SK and moved to Moose Jaw following Ben’s retirement in 1989. Helen enjoyed volunteering for many different organizations in Moose Jaw. Predeceased by her husband Ben (1991), infant son Raymond (1961), brother Peter Getz, and two infant sisters. Helen will be missed by her six children, Brian (Kathy), Francis, Margaret Minter (Terry), Anthony (Gail), Ken, and Tim (Diane); eleven grandchildren, Melissa (Ward), Tara (Chris), Sandra (Jeremy), Michael, Rebecca, Anita, Jocelyn, Colleen, Lisa, Travis, and Angela; two great-grandchildren, Kenzie and Ryland; Charlene, friend and mother of Tara, Colleen, and Travis; five sisters, Margaret, Anne, Mary, Barbara, and Bertha; four brothers, John, Valentine, Louis, and Daniel; as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law, and nieces, nephews and friends. Donations made in memory of Helen to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. A Prayer Service will be held at Parkview Funeral Chapel, on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 1064 3rd Ave NW, Moose Jaw.
