It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our loving wife, mother and grandmother, Lilian Emmett Hatcher on October 21, 2011 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, with her family by her side.
Born in Langashire, England she was a daughter of the late Roger and Beatrice (Hill) Rigby.
Lilian was a caring wife and mother who devoted her life to taking care of her family. She was a member of the Trinity Anglican Church, Sydney Mines.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Gordon Hatcher; children, Elaine (John) Allison, Nancy (Michael) Francis, Patricia (Greg) Morgan, Ronnie (Ann) Hatcher, Roger (Diann) Hatcher, Jason Hatcher, Leanne Murphy; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents Lilian was predeceased by her sister, Margaret Marsh.
Visitation for the late Mrs. Hatcher will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Monday, October 24 from Fillmore and Whitman Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. Funeral service 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 25 in Trinity Anglican Church, Sydney Mines, Rev Peter Rafuse will officiate. Interment in Lakeside Cemetery, Johnson Road, North Sydney.
