FAWCETT, GERALDINE - 1921 - 2011 - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Geraldine Fawcett at her residence Pro Tem Health Care Services. She previously lived at 83 Regina Street, Moncton. She was an avid reader and loved to play bingo, bridge, and other card games with the seniors at the Lions Senior Citizen Center. She worked hard for the former Brunswick Hotel establishment as well as other catering services. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband Norman Fawcett, her son Phillip Shields and by her first husband Leo Shields. She will be sadly missed by her sons Peter (Connie) Shields, North Bay, Ont., Larry (Rhonda) Fawcett, Cornerbrook, Nfld., John (Joanne) Fawcett, Lower Coverdale, N.B. and daughter in law Evelyn Shields, Toronto, Ont., also by her grand children Heather Abeysundera (Shields), Phillip Mark and Robbie Shields, Jay, Justin, John Fawcett , Jodi Alcorn (Fawcett) and Jenna Fawcett , plus seven great grand children. The family would like to thank Pro Tem Health Care Services and their staff for looking after our mother in a kind and caring way. In lieu of flowers donations to the Lung Association of New Brunswick, S.P.C.A. or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
There will be no visitation as per Geraldine’s request. Funeral service will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 25 at 11:00am with Reverend Aaron Billard officiating.
