Azelie LeBlanc

LeBLANC, AZELIE - 1906-2011 - Azelie Leblanc, 104, of Foyer Saint-Antoine, passed away peacefully at the Foyer surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 22, 2011. She was married to the late Edgar Leblanc (1956). Born in Saint-Antoine on November 3, 1906 she was the daughter of the late Francois and the late Zita (Allain) Melanson. Azelie was recognized for her contribution to charities, receiving the YMCA Peace Humanity Award. She loved to knit and donated her work to numerous organizations benefiting children. Some of her items were sent as far as Zaire Africa. She will be sadly missed by her four daughters, Irma Bastarache (late Lévi), Huberte Robichaud (Raymond), Florine Leblanc (late Gérald), Bernice Melanson (Paul) all of Saint-Antoine; three sons, Eric (late Aldéa) and his special friend Cécilia Landry of Saint-Antoine, Georges (Francine) of Notre-Dame, Yvon (Bernette) of Cocagne, two sisters, Leda Maillet (late Lionel) of Notre-Dame, Léona Robichaud (late Antoine) of Sainte-Marie, two brothers, Clarence (Simone) of Lancaster Ma, Ernest (late Lorraine) of Moncton, one sister-in-law Corinne of Cocagne, sixteen grandchildren, twelve great grand children, three great great grand children as well as several nieces and nephews. Azelie was predeceased by one great grandson Joey Bastarache, two sisters, Helene and Yvonne and three brothers, John, Antoine and Irois.
Visitations will be held at the Saint-Antoine L'Ermite Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Saint-Antoine on Monday, October 24, 2011 from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9pm and on Tuesday from 2 to 3:45pm Funeral Mass will be held at the Saint-Antoine l'Ermite Church on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 4:00pm with interment in the parish cemetery,
In Azelie's memory donations can be made to the Foyer Saint-Antoine, to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Maillet Funeral Home, Bouctouche. www.mailletfuneralhome.ca
