Alfred James Nash, age 78, died at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina on October 23rd, 2009.
Alf was born on January 21st, 1931, the first child of his parents Arthur and Lillian Nash. Alf was raised on the family farm near Eyebrow, Sask., and attended school nearby.
Alf worked with both the Regina City Police and the RCMP before joining the CPR Police in 1953 where he served for 35 years and retired as Investigator in 1988. During retirement he enjoyed boating, golfing every day in the summer, growing great tomatoes, and the company of his companion, Madge Crawford.
Though Alf worked in police services throughout his life, he was really a farmer at heart. He liked nothing better than to head out from Regina for a weekend at the family farm where he would socialize, help work the farm, and eat his mom's home cooking. After his mother and father passed away, he continued regular visits to the farm where he greatly enjoyed the company of his brother Arthur (aka Manny) and his family, and where he would often meet up with his other siblings and their families.
Alf will be remembered by his companion Madge Crawford, his children Bob, Rhoda, Christine (T.J.) Phillips and their son Henry, brothers Donald and Arthur (Joyce), sisters Lillian Weselak and Patricia Ward, Madge Crawford's children Ken (Bernice), Joan (Grant) Clark, Bill (Marcia), and Patricia, and their families, and several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Alf's wishes, no funeral will be held. A private service will be held at a future date.
