It is with the saddest of hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister-in-law, Agata ‘Ida’ DiSano, daughter of the late Guiseppe and Maria (DiRito) DiSano of Italy.
Ida was born in Brittoli, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1956 with her family.
Ida was predeceased by her loving husband, Giovanni, in 1984 and by her two sisters, Angiolina and Annina, both of Italy.
Ida is survived by her three daughters and their families, Guiseppina (Angelo) Camilli; Anna (Gabriele) DiMichele and Antonietta ‘Toni’ (John) MacNeil, all of Sydney; her grandchildren, Joseph (Vivienne) Camilli, Joanne (Brian) Rankin, Luisa (Jerry) Capaccio, Giancarlo (Kathy) DiMichele, Italo (Jeannie) Camilli, Paolo DiMichele, Gabriela (K.J.) MacDonald, Elisa (Joe) MacNeil and Robert (Cheryl) MacNeil.
Nonna Ida is also survived by nine great-grandchildren as well as her sister-in-law, Rosina DiSano.
Visitation for the late Agata ‘Ida’ DiSano will be held 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel in Sydney. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Nicholas Church on Gatacre Street in Whitney Pier on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 3 p.m., Rev. Paul Murphy officiating. Interment will be held, following the funeral, at Resurrection Cemetery, Howie Centre.
