REID, E. Joan – 77, Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, October 25, 2011, at Cedarstone. Born June 11, 1934, in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Alice (MacKenzie) Reid. Joan is survived by her sisters, Alice (Harold) Ahlberg-Eckhardt, Brantford, Ontario; Phyllis Schenck, Texas; Carol Smith, Bible Hill; Mary Lou (Ken) Fletcher, Kingston, Ontario; brothers, Alvin (Hilda) Reid, Crowes Mills; Phillip Reid, British Columbia; Carl (Brenda) Reid, Valley; Gordon (Sylvia) Reid, Harmony Ridge; sisters-in-law, Ruth Reid, Brule; Joan (Roger) Langille, Harmony Ridge; brother-in-law, Glendon Prime, Truro; many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Betty Baird, Doris Prime; brothers, Earl, Eldridge, Irvin, Jack, Victor, Donald, Fred, one in infancy. Special thanks are extended to the staff of Garden Road, Cedarstone Enhanced Care for their excellent care and love given to Joan during her stay with them. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Joan’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., today, October 26, 2011, and where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, October 27, 2011, Pastor Ken Banks officiating. Reception will follow. Interment in Bible Hill Cemetery, Warren Drive, Bible Hill. Family flowers only.
