Elaine Houlahan-Beck

HOULAHAN-BECK, ELAINE M. (GERMAIN) - At the age of 88, on Monday, October 24, 2011, at Moncton City Hospital, Elaine passed away. Elaine was born on January 10, 1923. She was raised on her parents farm in Massey Ontario. Elaine’s caring nature led her to become an RNA at the St Joseph’s Hospital in North Bay Ontario. Elaine enjoyed being a member of the Friendship Senior Citizens and was an active member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Elaine loved her country home in Beaverbrook NB; she especially loved family visits and entertaining friends. She will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her Husband Ervin Beck, children, Kevin Houlahan and Richard Houlahan (Anne) of Winnipeg MB; sister Joan Carr (Wendell) of Guelph ON; grandchildren, Douglas, Sean, Michael and Kayla. Brothers in-law Stancey, Cecil and Raymond Beck, sisters in-law Solie Barbour, Teresa Mercer and Treva Muise as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Elaine was pre-deceased by Douglas Lees and James Houlahan; her parents Frank and Rose Germain; brother William Germain; sons Jim Lees, Douglas Houlahan and Raymond Houlahan.
She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Thursday evening from 7 to 9pm, there will be Parish Prayers and a time of sharing memories at 8:30pm. The Funeral Mass and Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 28th, 2011 at 10:00am at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church with Father Bernard Sloan officiating. Interment will be in the Holy Ghost Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, NB. Following the service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends for further fellowship and refreshments at the Riverside- Albert Recreation Center. Should friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the Holy Ghost Cemetery. Our Family offers a heartfelt thank you to Beatrice MacDonald and Emily Morrison for their kind and compassionate care. In tears we saw you sinking, We watched you fade away, You suffered much in silence, You fought so hard to stay. God saw you getting tired, and knew you had to leave.
