The death occurred on Oct. 24, 2011, of Hector Joseph Arsenault of St. Philippe who passed away suddenly after battling a long illness, at the age of 74. He is the son of the Late Donat Arsenault and Madeleine (nee Gallant). He is survived by his wife Alta and the following children: Diane Racette of Summerside, Simon (Lisa) Egmont-Bay, Marcia (Leo-Paul) Wellington, Edna Gallant (Julien) St. Chrystostome, Francis of St. Chrysostome, Bernice of Summerside, and Eddie (Dawn Orton) of St. Chrysostome. He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Gavin (Irene) of St. Raphael, Laura MacPhail (Graham) of Charlottetown, Jeanne Duffenais and Florence of Summerside, Albert of St. Chrysostome, Simon (Lee Machado) of Toronto, Ont., and Raymond of Abram’s Village. He also leaves to mourn his grandchildren: Ashley Racette, Justin Gallant, Joel Gallant, Lianne Gallant, Richard Arsenault, Donald Arsenault, Jasmine Orton, Nathalie Arsenault, Tyler Arsenault, Natasha Arsenault, Madison Arsenault, Emily Arsenault. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his sisters Dorothy and Zita and his father-in-law Albin Arsenault and mother-in-law Beatrice Arsenault. Resting at the Evangeline Funeral Co-op in Urbainville until Thursday, Oct. 27, then to the St. Philippe and St. Jacques Church in Egmont Bay for funeral mass at 2:30 p.m. Visiting hours on Thursday, Oct. 27, from 1-2 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations can be made the Canadian Cancer Society. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
