We regret to announce the death of Daniel Roderick Joseph (D.R.J.) MacKinnon of MacKinnon’s Harbour, who passed away at the Richmond Villa, St. Peter’s, on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011.
Born in Cains Mountain, Victoria County, he was the son of the late James Alexander and Annie May (MacNeil) MacKinnon.
He was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Mission Church, MacKinnon’s Harbour, and St. Columba Church, Iona.
He is survived by brothers, Francis (Peggy), Iona, Rod (Maria), Sydney; sister, Anne MacKinnon-Parks (Brad), Port Hawkesbury; and his extended family of the Richmond Villa, St. Peter’s.
Predeceased by brothers, Anthony and James Andre.
The body will rest at St. Columba parish hall, Iona, Friday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral, Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, St. Columba Catholic Church, Iona at 11 a.m. Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery, MacKinnon’s Harbour.
Donations may be made to Sacred Heart
Cemetery Fund or Richmond Villa Activity Fund.
