Passed peacefully away on October 25, 2011 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Care Centre, Pastor Sylvia Maude Purchase of Botwood. She was 88 years of age. Mrs. Purchase retired from pastoral ministry and was a member of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Newfoundland & Labrador. She was predecea-sed by her husband, Pastor L.P. Purchase; son, Keith; brother, Elijah Freake; sister, Laura Luscombe. She leaves to mourn her sons, Bruce (Louise), Wayne (Donna) and Glenn (Pansy). She also leaves to mourn her six grandchildren, Brad Purchase, Barbara Hutchings, Jennifer Normore, Dwayne, Trevor and Andrew Purchase; four great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Grace Purchase and Peyton and Andrew Normore-Pederson; one sister, Selena Elliott and a circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Fraser Roberts conducted funeral services at Jubilee Pentecostal Temple, Botwood on Oct. 28, 2011 with interment at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Botwood. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Home, Botwood. Pallbearers were her sons, Bruce, Wayne and Glenn; grandsons, Brad, Dwayne, Trevor and Andrew Purchase.
