Helen Peterson passed away with her family by her side at the Rosefield Centre on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at the age of 91 years. Helen was born Sunday, December 14, 1919, to parents William and Viola Kinnell in Swift Current, SK. Helen attended both elementary and high school in Webb, SK. Helen married the love of her life Donald Peterson on Sunday, February 21, 1943. Together they had two daughters, Sharon and Sue. Helen and Don were members of the Moose Lodge in Medicine Hat, they enjoyed their active social life. Helen had a great sense of humor that will be missed by all her family. Helen is survived by her two daughters: Sharon (Leonard) Moberg of Innisfail, AB, and Sue (Dennis) Roosen of Swift Current, SK; two sisters-in-law: Pat Russell of Milk River, AB, and Irene Peterson of Calgary, AB. Her memory will also be cherished by her five grandchildren: Lorrie (Wayne) Sparks of Innisfail, AB, Patty (Dwayne) Simpson of Innisfail, AB, Rhonda (Jeff) Kurtz of Swift Current, SK, Larry (Pam) Moberg of Drayton Valley, AB, and Ryan (Brandi) Roosen of Swift Current, SK. Helen is further survived by the lights of her life her great-grandchildren: Brett, Reed and Melissa Sparks, Riley and Bailey Simpson, Cody, Dylan, Ethan and Garrett Kurtz, Kael, Ella and Colby Moberg, and Taylor and Kyle Roosen. Helen was predeceased by husband Donald. An open house in memory of Helen was held on Saturday, October 22, 2011, at 2:00 P.M. A private family memorial will be held at a later date in Swift Current, SK.
