LUTES, JOHN S. - John S. Lutes, 94, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at his life time residence on St. George St., on Wednesday, October 26, 2011. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Solomon and Sarah (Steeves) Lutes. John was employed with Massey Ferguson for 25 years and retired from Central Trust Company as Assistant Vice President, Real Estate Department and was a Veteran of WWII, having served in the R.C.A.F., attached to the R.A.F. overseas. He was Past President of the Moncton Real Estate Board and received his Accreditation as an A.A.C.I. from the Appraisal Institute of Canada. He attended First Baptist Church and was a member of Keith Lodge # 23, F. & A.M., Luxor Shrine Temple, Saint John; B.P.O. Elks Lodge #229 (for over 50 years), the Moncton Club, the Air Force Veterans Club, was Past President of the K 40 Club and was one of the founding members of the Moncton Probus Club (celebrating 20 years in 2011). John will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Margaret “Bobbie” (Roberts) Lutes (1997); sisters, Helen Clark and Margaret Day; and brother, Claude.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday November 2, 2011, 1:30 pm, Pastor Scott Ryder officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service.
