NEW GLASGOW – Phillip Kenneth Borden, age 75, of MacDonald St., New Glasgow, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2011 in the QEII New Infirmary, Halifax.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Vera Helen Borden.
He worked at the New Glasgow stadium and retired from the Town of New Glasgow Water Department. He was a member of Second United Baptist Church and Royal Canadian Legion Br. 34, New Glasgow. He played darts at the Legion, Ward 1 Rec Centre and North End Rec Centre.
He is survived by his partner of 37 years Debra Jordan; daughter, Helena Borden (Tony Diflauio), Sydney; sons: Jamie (Patti), New Glasgow; Phillip (Tracey), Stellarton; Herman (Elisabeth), Truro; step-son Charles Jordan, New Glasgow; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Borden, Toronto; Catherine Barnwell, Washington, DC; brothers: Victor, Montreal; Robert “Bob Cat”, Winnipeg; Donald “Ducky”, Winnipeg; Vernon “Jim” (Twilla “Skip”), New Glasgow; Harry “Bunny” (Colleen), Halifax.
He was predeceased by wife Rosie Caddle and sister Audrey.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday in Second United Baptist Church. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.
